Tactics Of CETA Combat
Listed below are the 10 tactics of CETA Close Quarter Combat. This information was learned from studying several excellent books and from real life close combat encounters of CETA"S founder, Brooks Marlowe. The 2 best books I have found were" THE PRINCIPLES OF PERSONEL DEFENSE" by Jeff Cooper available through Paladin Press at www.paladinpress.com and "THE TACTICS OF HAND - TO - HAND COMBAT" by Bradley J. Steiner, 10th Dan and founder of the American Combato System. It can be purchased through his website www.americancombato.com . along with many other excellent materials on close quarter combat. There are also dozens of free articles for study which are a goldmine of self defense information. It should be noted here that Bradley Steiner does not endorse the CETA system.
1. AWARENESS AND RESOURCEFULLNESS These 2 attributes go together. Know what’s going on around you . Use your intuition to steer you clear of possible dangerous situations. Be aware of escape routes and weapons in your environment. In a close quarter combat situation learn to exploit any advantages you might have such as access to weapons, errors made by the enemy or just luck .
2. ATTACK FIRST If you can’t avoid combat, attack the enemy first and neutralize him.
3.INSTANTANEOUSNESS If you were taken by surprise and attacked first, try and absorb the initial attack and instantly explode into the enemy with a with a savage, vicious counterattack. The last thing an assailant expects is to go from an offensive mode to one where he’s on the defense trying to protect his vital points.
4. FEROCIOUSNESS, VICIOUSNESS AND RUTHLESSNESS Rip into the enemy like a vicious beast. Mentally inculcate this. Yell and scream as you attack. Try to injure the enemy as bad as you can as quickly as you can. Show the enemy no mercy. Fight unfairly. Use a weapon if you can even if the enemy is unarmed. These 3 attributes go hand in hand and are intertwined together into your attack.
5. LETHALITY In serious hand-to-hand combat, attack the eyes, the neck and throat region, the groin and the knees as your primary targets and you will conclude the encounter very quickly.
6. ACCEPTANCE Expect to get hurt. In a violent self defense emergency, no matter how good you are. Once you resign yourself to this fact, if you should get injured you will not be shocked or surprised. You will then be able to rip into your opponent with uninhibited ferocity, with a single- minded purpose to rip him to shreds. Toughness is a mental attribute and this is the secret to it.
7. CONTINUOUSNESS Explode into the enemy with a continuous barrage of attacks and don’t stop until the enemy flees or is neutralized.
8. SIMPLICITY Techniques that utilize basic motions allow for the development of maximum speed and striking power. Fancy and complicated techniques no matter how well developed or impressively performed in demonstrations are too slow for real self-defense applications.
9. SPEEDINESS Try to conclude the encounter in 10 seconds or less. The longer one dillies about, the greater chance of injury.
10. DECEPTIVENESS In combat, do the unexpected. Use feints, ploys, deceptive talk and body language. Develop the element of surprise to a high level and you will have one of the best weapons of all
.
These are the 10 tactics of CETA. It should be mentioned that although CETA strives to be one of the most savage and vicious methods of self-protection ever conceived of, its methods can easily be adapted to self-defense situations where you’d want to deter an aggressor rather than cause extreme injury. The techniques of CETA are easy to train and develop maximum speed and power in. The techniques are called low maintenance because they use basic motor movements of the body and are easy to retain, sort of like riding a bicycle. Once you learn how to ride a bike you can always do it even if you go a long time without riding. Many martial arts rely on skills that require fine motor skills, which not only require constant training, but are hard to implement in a real self-defense situation.
